THE STORY BEHIND WATERMELON DREAMS
Watermelon Dreams is a multidisciplinary spoken word project exploring resilience, survival, faith, identity and the complicated experiences that shape us. Using the watermelon as a metaphor, the project moves through the rind, the flesh and the seed—what protects us, what we feel beneath the surface, and what we carry forward.
Told through poetry, music and storytelling, Watermelon Dreams holds both the bitter and the sweet—struggle, love, loss, community, hope and becoming. The project lives across a spoken word album, a book and an intimate live experience.
Pre-order the forthcoming spoken word album Watermelon Dreams by Zeda Stew.
Blending poetry, music and storytelling, Watermelon Dreams explores resilience, survival, faith, identity, love, loss, community and becoming through the metaphor of the rind, the flesh and the seed.
